After back-to-back MotoAmerica Supersport Championship seasons, Strack Racing Yamaha is spreading its wings and expanding to the Superbike Championship for the 2026 season. The move marks the next phase in the team’s long-term growth in the series, and will see championship-proven riders return to lead the charge—Mathew Scholtz in Superbike and Blake Davis in Supersport.
“Supersport enabled us to build a championship foundation, and that didn’t happen easily—it was deliberate and strategic,” said Peter Strack, Strack Racing Yamaha’s Team Owner. “With Yamaha and Attack Performance aligned with us technically, we’re confident about stepping into Superbike while continuing to compete at the front of a stacked Supersport field.”

On the heels of consecutive Supersport titles, Scholtz returns to MotoAmerica’s premier class in 2026 eager to mount a title challenge. Joining Strack Racing Yamaha in 2024, he and the team enjoyed a lot of success over two seasons, claiming 19 victories and a combined 31 podium finishes en route to Supersport championships aboard the YZF-R6 and YZF-R9. The talented South African also has a history of success aboard a Yamaha YZF-R1, with five Superbike victories in addition to being crowned the 2017 MotoAmerica SuperStock 1000 Champion.
“Coming back to Superbike with Strack Racing Yamaha feels like the right move at the right time for me,” said Scholtz. “What we’ve built together in Supersport gives us a strong foundation, and I’m excited to take that momentum back into the premier class with a team I trust.”

At 19 years old, Davis brings an accomplished resume and a deep history with the Yamaha brand. A back-to-back MotoAmerica Twins Cup Champion (2022 and 2023), the young rider from Virginia joined Strack Racing Yamaha last season and delivered a strong sophomore Supersport campaign aboard the YZF-R9, finishing third overall with three wins and 10 podiums. Entering his second year with the team, Davis is ready to take the baton and lead the team’s Supersport effort in 2026.
“I’m excited to continue with Strack Racing Yamaha and build on what we started last season,” said Blake Davis. “The Supersport class is stacked, and my goal is to be fighting for wins every race while continuing to develop the R9 with the team.”

With Scholtz spearheading the Superbike effort and Davis continuing in Supersport, Strack Racing Yamaha will work in close technical alignment with Attack Performance—strengthening its Superbike program while maintaining championship-level performance across both classes.
“Yamaha Racing is proud to support Strack Racing stepping up to the Superbike class with Mathew Scholtz, and continuing to build on their Championship foundation in the Supersport class with Blake Davis,” said Jeff Sidlovsky, YMUS’ Yamaha Racing Assistant Department Manager. “The team’s commitment to excellence is evident, and Mathew, Blake, and the team continue to grow. We value the collaboration between Strack Racing and Attack Performance as this strengthens the bonds between our racing partners, elevates the Yamaha brand, and promotes the strength of the YZF-R1 and YZF-R9.”
