Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing’s Bobby Fong strengthens championship lead heading into tomorrow’s title-deciding MotoAmerica Superbike doubleheader at the New Jersey Motorsports Park

Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing’s Bobby Fong fired the first shot in the high-stakes season finale title fight, winning the opening race of the MotoAmerica Superbike tripleheader at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey. The points leader kept cool under pressure and laid down consistently fast laps to claim the victory and further extend his lead in the premier-class championship. Teammate Jake Gagne was also in the mix, ultimately securing a top-five finish in the tricky conditions at the 2.25-mile circuit.

The team started the weekend strong with both riders qualifying 1-2 for the finale. Fong topped both sessions to earn his second pole position of the season. In Race 1, he slotted into second behind Gagne and made the pass for the lead on Lap 4. It was a heated battle with his title rivals, and Fong was briefly shuffled back to the runner-up spot at the halfway mark, but reclaimed the lead on the following lap. He put his head down and continued to put in consistently fast laps, ultimately breaking away from the competition and earning his sixth victory of the season by a 3.326-second margin. He now heads into Sunday’s doubleheader with a 13-point advantage.

Gagne qualified second and got a great start from the front row to grab the holeshot and lead the first three laps. After being passed by his teammate, he dropped to third on Lap 5. Locked in a tight multi-rider battle, the three-time MotoAmerica Superbike Champion continued to fight for a podium. In the latter half of the race, he was shuffled to fourth and then fifth with four laps to go.

All eyes are on New Jersey Motorsports Park, where a MotoAmerica Superbike Champion will be crowned tomorrow. The Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing team looks to close out the season strong in the final two races of the 2025 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship.

Richard Stanboli – Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing Team Manager
“It’s been a pretty good weekend so far. We are hitting all of our performance targets – qualifying 1-2 and winning Race 1. Bobby is riding great, and Jake is doing all he can to help the team. Tomorrow will be a busy day with two races, but our crew is ready to maximize every opportunity.”

Bobby Fong – Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing #50
“We had a good day today, and I am looking forward to tomorrow. It was a hard-fought race in the beginning, and the track was slippery out there. We have two more tomorrow, so we’re staying focused and will keep working.”

Jake Gagne – Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing #32
“We got off to a good start early, but I struggled with pace in the second half of the race. We’re looking to make some improvements with my riding and run up front tomorrow.”
