Turner Earns Back-to-Back WMX Titles with Commanding 2025 Campaign

Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Lachlan Turner crowned back-to-back WMX Champion at the season finale at Budds Creek

Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Lachlan “La La” Turner wrapped up a dominant season with her second-consecutive Women’s Motocross Championship, earning the 2025 title aboard her YZ250F at the season finale at the Budds Creek Motocross Park in Mechanicsville, Maryland.

The final WMX round featured a three-moto format held alongside the Pro Motocross Championship at the Budds Creek National, with two motos on Friday and the final WMX moto contested Saturday between the 450MX and 250MX first and second motos. After a crash in Moto 1, Turner showed grit with a hard-fought runner-up finish, then rebounded to take the win in Moto 2. In challenging conditions on Saturday, she delivered a masterclass performance to win the final moto, earning her fifth overall victory of the season and claiming the 2025 WMX crown.

Turner’s title defense was nothing short of commanding. She never finished off the podium and scored nine moto wins over the six-round championship. With two dropped moto scores factored into the final standings, she claimed the championship with a healthy 31-point margin. Her back-to-back WMX titles added to an already stellar year for the 18-year-old, who also earned her first Women’s title at the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch with a 1-1-1 moto score.

The Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha team heads Concord, North Carolina, on September 6 for the first round of SMX Next at the SuperMotocross World Championship Playoff 1 on September 6 at zMax Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Turner will be on site with her championship-winning YZ250F to sign autographs for her fans as well as support her teammates Owen Covell, McKayden Fitch, Kane Bollasina, and Kade Johnson.

Ed Torrance – Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha Team Manager
“The year started out kind of crazy. We tried to put everything together and build the best team we could, and it turned out pretty amazing. We went to Loretta’s and won seven national championships, which is more than I have ever won at one time, so that was pretty cool.

“La La has had an incredible year. There’s not much more I can say about her except that she’s awesome. She is so fast, knows what she wants, and just goes after it. She trains hard, rides hard, and gets the job done. Her mom and dad are excellent people to be around. It was an incredible experience being around her at Loretta’s when she won there, and her winning the WMX Championship is just more icing on the cake. It’s been a pretty good month for the Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha team.”

“It means a lot to me to go back-to-back, especially since I’ve worked my butt off for two months. After the first moto, I kind of just put that crash to the back of my mind and just moved forward. It’s super sick to get two big titles this year – here and at Loretta’s. The Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha team has helped me a lot. I love that they took a chance on me this year, and appreciate their support.”
